“Never in our lifetime has there been a more desperate need for constructive and committed dialogue, among individuals, among communities, among cultures, among and between nations.”
The purpose of Model United Nations Illinois is to create an atmosphere in which delegates are exposed to the international issues of today. Through diplomatic discussion, debate, and parliamentary sessions, delegates interact with one another to reach consensus and draft resolutions with the aim of improving our world. As citizens of our global community, we all have a responsibility to collaborate with others and improve the conditions of the world. Model United Nations Illinois is a forum in which such cooperation is both fostered and encouraged.

My name is Nicollette Khuans, and it is my distinct honor to serve as your Secretary-General for Model United Nations 2010. I look forward to drawing from the success of MUNI 2009 in order to build an even more dynamic, stimulating, and enjoyable conference for the internationally-minded delegate. Please keep your eye on our website as we continue to update it with information pertaining to MUNI 2010.
I would first like to extend my heartiest thanks to everyone that was involved with MUNI 2009. From our astute delegates to our devoted staff, MUNI 2009 was truly an unparalleled venue for diplomacy, dialogue, and discovery. I'd especially like to thank our MUNI alumni who so generously volunteered their time to our conference. The University of Illinois knows that there's no family quite like a MUN family!
In that vein, it is my pleasure to inform you that Model United Nations Illinois XV will be held from April 23-25, 2010. We can't wait to see you in the spring!
Please keep your eye on our website as we continue to update it with information pertaining to MUNI 2010. Online registration will be open within the next month. MUNI 2010 Undersecretary-General Application
Model United Nations Illinois has come a long way. From a fledgling conference of one committee and thirty delegates fourteen years ago, MUNI now accommodates five hundred students in ten committees and is hosted by a staff of sixty.
Through the years, we’ve moved from the Illini Union to classrooms and instructional space. This year, we have access to exclusive College of Business conference-style instructional space. Since its inception in 1994, MUNI staffers have gone on to hold esteemed positions in government, the corporate world, and academia.
